The Book Ber'iah comprises 92 tunes John Zorn composed in the time since the big Book of Angels composition spree. This brings the total number of Masada tunes to 613 - the number of commandments in the Torah. These tunes were titled after concepts found in Kabbalah.

The live debut of The Book Beri'ah was The Town Hall Concert on 19 March 2014 at Town Hall in New York, featuring 14 tunes by 14 different ensembles. Zorn's initial plan for recording these tunes was to have them each performed by a different ensemble. Eventually, these tunes were recorded by ten different artists, each with their own disc, each titled after one of the sephirot from the Tree of Life of Kabbalah. An eleventh "bonus" disc entitled Da'at was also released, primarily featuring instrumental, piano-based interpretations of the tunes on disc 1, Keter, which is vocal in nature.

The Book Ber'iah was initially released as an 11-disc boxed set in 2018, with the discs only released as standalone single discs - one per month - across 2019.
